About Sakura
- Sakura Ota was born in Tokyo. And she grew up in an artistic environment, influenced by her grandfather, ”Yoai Ota”, a leading painter of cherry blossoms, and her mother, also a painter. In her 20s, she launched her own nail salon business and became a pioneer in the beauty industry by opening a nail salon in collaboration with a major Japanese electrical appliance retailer. As a nail artist, she worked with celebrities and gained recognition as the inventor of “Ita Nail,” intricate nail art featuring manga and anime designs.
- Despite her success, faced a life-changing challenge when she developed severe depression after discovering her then-husband’s affair. During her treatment, she channeled her emotions into creating a manga that received 2.5 million page views, leading to her debut as a manga artist. She later published her work as a book and served as a navigator on a program for Japan’s national broadcaster, NHK.
SACRA.

Her art embodies the philosophy: “My Choice, My Love, My Path.” Guided by her inner voice, SACRA.’s creations reflect the beauty of loving by her own will, not by expectation, and staying true to her chosen path.
Primarily incorporating acrylic techniques, SACRA. creates mixed media artworks that include painting, airbrushing, and 3D elements. In addition, her work spans delicate colored pencil drawings, pen illustrations, and digital art, showcasing her versatility as an artist.
